So,today was world aids day ,Dec 1,2014 no. 26...how many more lives will this disease take? Too many gone forever,never given a chance to live full lives...yet people in the know say a vaccine is still 20yrs away . We are not retaining hiv+ people in care & on treatment, & its these members of our society that we are losing.We must do more in harm reduction strategies like safe injection sites , crack kits and yes , even bordelos.A place where woman can do what thev have done for thousands of years. Where they can be safe. Science must trump ideological policies and drugs need to be legalized. No more war on drugs,sex &people n places. Do we not have enough stuff already? Just how big do our tvs need to be? Yes we can end the spread of hiv , but we choose not too. We lack the political willpower to end the spread of this virus...a sad truth to be sure. Why is it deemed too expensive to place all those that test positive on anti retro viral medications? It could stop the spread of this virus...at least slow it down some.
